Domestic Short Hair - brown - Small - Young - Female - Cat - Cam
Description
My life has been quite an adventure and Im ready to settle down. Where should I start? One day I saw a nice woman feeding some stray cats and came running up to get something to eat. I brushed up against her legs, gave her a head butt, and even let her pick me up. Every time she fed the other cats, there I was, waiting for food. She didnt know if I had a home or where I came from. My fur was shiny and I was well groomed so I could have been living in one of the nearby apartments. Then one day I was waiting for her in the pouring rain and I was soaked. She realized that I must be homeless. She picked me up and put me in a carrier and took me home. You can see what my first day was like. I was scared, but it sure was nice to be petted, have lots of food and a dry place to sleep. Here I am on the second day. Ive already settled in. I was nervous for a while when I heard the toast pop up, the noise scared me so much I ran downstairs! Then there was the coffee grinder! But after a couple days, I was used to all the different sounds. When I went to the vet for a checkup, they found out that I had been microchipped. When they contacted my owner, he said that when they were moving out of their apartment, I got scared and ran away. He looked for me for a week, but couldnt find me. Now too much time had passed, he didnt want me back and asked that I be put up for adoption. He didnt know that in the months after I ran away, I went into a wooded area to hide. Im lucky a coyote didnt get me. Then I walked over a few blocks to some apartments. I lived on whatever I could catch or find (some days that was nothing), and eventually saw the lady who fed the stray cats every day. My foster parents said I was a perfect guest. I dont have any bad habits. I like other cats and I love to play. Catnip toys are my favorite. I hold on to them tight and try to kick their stuffing out. Balls are good too, especially the foam type or the ones that are small enough to pick up in my mouth. One day I was playing with four toys at once! Im quite the snuggler so Id like a home where I could sleep with (or on!) one of the family. And Im not quite a lap cat but will sit with my front paws and head on you. You can pet me all you want: on my chin, my head, my back, but beware if you touch my tummy because Im ticklish! Dont say I didnt warn you. I thought things were going well in my new home. I didnt realize it was only temporary, and today I was brought to Animal Aid. Im scared again and my foster mom was worried about me. She took this video of me my first day at the shelter. She told me things would get better and I would find the perfect family soon. Well, she was right about things getting better. Today is the second day and I am not so scared. I like watching all the other cats playing. I want to join in. We visited for a while and then she said goodbye and said she'd see me next weekend. Maybe I'll be out playing with the other cats by then. BTW, I was born in October 2008. UPDATE! Here I am out of my cage, all settled in, and patiently waiting for a home. Please note: due to our screening preference to view the potential home and interview the prospective guardian, we rarely adopt out of our local Portland metro area.
