Chocolate Labrador Retriever - Large - Young - Male - Dog - Roon

Meet Rooney! Rooney is a typical, happy goofy retriever. He's about 2.5 years old and gets along well with other dogs. He's actually friendly with everybody he meets, except cats, who he REALLY wants to chase! Rooney is definitely a ladies dog. He likes men just fine, but he LOVES women! He follows his female person around wherever they go and would make a great companion for a woman who likes to have a big dog around. Rooney does well if he's on a regular potty break schedule, but he will leak (drip) if he has to hold it for too long. We have not figured out what's causing this or how to fix it. But it is manageable with a regular schedule and frequent trips outside. The problem is worse when there are changes in his life. We think Rooney's former owner made him live outside rather than try to figure out his problem. As a result, he is very worried about being left outside alone. He wants his person, or another dog to go out with him. When he came to us, Rooney was very thin and bleached out looking. He has since filled in and his coat has all grown out a beautiful dark brown. Adoption Process: We are not first come first served. Indigo Rescue focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions. We deliver all dogs to their new homes. All of our dogs are in foster homes. We have adoption events at the Beaverton PetSmart every other Saturday where you can meet many of our dogs at once. Click Here for our Calendar of Events.
