Peanut has lived a life that would drive most dogs insane. From living in a 10X15 outdoor kennel through the harsh Louisiana weather conditions, to watching her kennel buddy pass and being attacked by 3 dogs, her entire life until now has been quite difficult. Peanut was found in an abandoned house with her dead Mother. She was brought to an animal sanctuary in Louisiana, and that was all she knew... until she came to me. This dog who once feared even going outside, can now walk around the block, and even further during the night. This dog who would not come out of her crate, is now totally crate free, greats me with a wagging tail when I walk in, and hops up on the couch to be next to me. This dog who would never come out to meet any one of my guests, now comes out to kiss their hand, and even permits some folks to massage her neck. A dog who could not sit in my parked truck without shaking, can now ride around in it with me. I have had Peanut for a little over two months now, and she has acclimated amazing fast for a dog who has never been socialized. She is not at all an attention needy dog, but loves to receive it anytime you let her know your ready to give. Peanut does not have an aggressive bone in her body, though she is a bit skittish, so I believe a home without children would be best. She does very well with other dogs and cats. With consistence, patience, love, and dedication, this dog will be one that you can take short walks with around the neighborhood... though she would really prefer to stay away from busy streets. Peanut loves to give kisses, she loves to play, and she loves to hug by lowering her head and placing it between my chest and the crook of my arm... and she melts when I gently massage or do T-touch on her neck and shoulders. Peanut is a wonderful girl who has touched my heart deeply. I know there is a person out there who is meant to be hers, who will love her enough to make up for the 4 1/2 years that she never really got any... because Peanut is an incredibly easy girl to love.
